A Family Adventure in Jerusalem: Old City, City of David and the Mount of Olives with Shimon Mizrahi

Tour Guide Shimon Mizrahi, educates his guests about Israel, the City of David and the Old City of Jerusalem.

It was a beautiful morning in the ancient city of Jerusalem, and our family was eager to embark on an adventure with our charismatic tour guide, Shimon Mizrahi. We set out from the Old City, walking through the ancient stone walls, breathing in the history that surrounded us.

Shimon led us through the city’s old markets and winding alleyways, pointing out every interesting detail and historical twist that the charming city had to offer. He talked about the various cultures, and he shared fascinating stories about the people who lived in these streets, like the Muslim shop owners who would live upstairs and sell their wares on the ground floor. His anecdotes were always perfect, and we were hooked.

As we continued on towards the City of David, Shimon’s boundless enthusiasm was contagious. We were intrigued by his tales of King David, the ancient city’s walls, and the intricacies of the water tunnels that ran beneath it all.

Once inside the City of David, we witnessed the magnificent structures that had been preserved by time. Shimon’s informative stories connected us with each of those ruins, and we could transport ourselves back in time when they were still standing. We were speechless, impressed by all that we had seen, and we knew that the journey was far from over.

Next on the itinerary was a stop at the Mount of Olives, where we hiked to the top of the hill, taking in the breathtaking view of the Old City below. Shimon described the significance of the area and told us how it was a site of various religions with deep historical roots. We were enchanted by the stories and mesmerized by the landscape, and we couldn’t help but feel a sense of spiritual awakening in the air.

But this was no ordinary sightseeing tour; Shimon knew how to make the trip fun. He had a sense of humor that was infectious, and he joked about the famous Camel Trail that goes all the way to Jericho. With every ridiculous joke, the laughter was contagious, and we all bonded over the silly moments and the surprising bits of local trivia that Shimon supplied.

At the end of our journey, we arrived back at our hotel, with memories and stories to last us a lifetime. Shimon had been an incredible guide, sharing a wealth of knowledge and expertise that made the journey both fascinating and enjoyable. Looking back, we all felt incredibly lucky to have had Shimon as our guide; he made the whole adventure more than just a tour, he turned it into an unforgettable family memory that we would cherish forever.

The experience left us longing for more, and we couldn’t wait to explore the rest of the ancient city with the extraordinary Shimon Mizrahi.
